"Afterthought"
Anger in the air fills one with fear.
Violence is everywhere,
it can’t stop one’s tear.
Guns fire.
People scream.
The dead pile higher.
And people call this an American dream?
A war here and a shooting there.
Make it all just disappear.
How are we, to live,
in this hellish nightmare?
A man lies dead.
A woman is slapped.
A child bled
and violence clapped.
Anger pulled the trigger.
Violence is shot.
As the wound grew bigger,
Life became a simple
afterthought.

A child bled

Anger pulled the trigger.
Violence is shot.
As the wound grew bigger,
Life became a simple
afterthought.
